The Munros are thought to have been Irish Mercenaries who came to Scotland in the eleventh century. They may have originated in Derry in Ireland near the River Roe. By helping King Malcolm II of Scotland to defeat the Vikings they wee rewarded by getting tracts of land in Rosshire. The Munros were vassals of the Earl of Ross in Rosshire on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth. This part of the county is known as the area known as Ferindonald (Donald\'s land) after their first chief.This is a short extract from the full Clan history which acompanies each of our flags. When hung in this manner the crest will hang parallel to the building and the clan crest will show clearly.Banner, 27 x 40 inches with a 3" open white flat sleeve at top. This flag can be used indoors or outdoors. Perhaps above a fireplace or bar or hung on a wall like a tapestry.
